Snap-On Smile is a dental appliance that you can wear over your teeth to instantly create an improved smile. These accessories are non-invasive, removable, and give a temporary change to the appearance of the teeth. It can help to cover gaps, chipped teeth, and stained teeth.

Snap-On Smile does not change the structure of the natural teeth, unlike veneers. This functionality makes it a more affordable solution. However, since the appliance is placed on the existing teeth, it could make the teeth look bulky and unnatural. It also does feature defined spaces between each tooth.

Snap-On Smile only comes as a complete set of top or bottom teeth; it can’t be used on only a selected number of teeth. In terms of oral hygiene, Snap-on Smile appliances may increase the possibility of cavities and other oral health issues. They should not be used as a solution to mask significant orthodontic problems. Patients who suffer from gum disease, severely crooked teeth, and a misaligned jaw are not suitable for Snap-On Smile.

A Snap-on Smile begins with a mouth examination by a dentist. Once approved, patients can choose upper or lower teeth sets along with the style and shade of their inserts. Dentists take molds and impressions of the teeth before building a custom accessory using thin, durable resin. The process to make these covers takes about three weeks before the patient returns for a final fitting appointment. The dentist makes any last adjustments, but this appointment does not involve invasive techniques.

While patients can eat and drink with the Snap-On Smile covers, they should not consume any hot liquids which could soften the appliance. Snap-On Smile is not a permanent solution to improve one’s smile. The accessory wears down over time and should always come with realistic expectations.
