A QuickLift, also known as a mini-lift, is a minor surgical procedure that lifts the mid to lower face. It tightens any sagging skin in the cheeks, jawline, and neck. The procedure is recommended for patients aged 40-65 years old. It targets the signs of aging, such as sagging and wrinkled skin, by lifting the facial muscles to create a youthful and rested appearance. QuickLift™ can make patients look five to ten years younger.
Like traditional facelifts, a QuickLift will tighten the jowls, contour the jawline, lift the cheeks, and iron out any wrinkles. Compared to the conventional procedure, it is less invasive. Surgeons use only local anesthetic and smaller incisions. As a result, it requires a shorter recovery period of just one week and comes with fewer complications.
A QuickLift procedure can take anywhere from 1-3 hours. The technique used will depend on each patient's case and their cosmetic goals. Typically, incisions are made along the hairline, in front of the ear, and around the earlobe. The surgeon will first target the underlying tissues and muscles by lifting them. Then they remove any excess skin, draping it over the tissues. With QuickLift's unique technique, the surgeon attaches the sutures deep within the tissues in front of the ear. With this method, the muscles are repositioned instead of just tightening and pulling on the skin.
This procedure gives a more natural result lasting longer than the traditional technique.
During the recovery, patients need to wear a facial garment to support the surgical area. They need to elevate their heads when sleeping. Patients will experience slight swelling and bruising, which will subside over time. The procedure comes with minimal visible scarring behind the ears and along the sideburns. As with most surgeries, QuickLift has some possible complications. These can include bleeding, redness, scarring, infection, reaction to the sutures, swelling, bruising, or allergy to the anesthetic.
