Laser treatments such as Isolaz, Neo Laser, and Smoothbeam Laser are effective treatments for active acne. Isolaz, also known as photopneumatic therapy, is a light-based technology that targets active acne with a safe and painless treatment and does not require any anesthetic. Isolaz reduces active acne lesions by clearing clogged pores and killing bacteria using light technology. This is the only treatment certified to treat mild to moderate acne, pustular acne, comedonal acne (blackheads & whiteheads), and mild to moderate inflammatory acne. The treatment requires no downtime, and results can be seen within one to two days following the procedure. For optimal results, doctors recommend 4-6 treatments. They also advise wearing at least SPF 30 sunscreen for at least two weeks after
treatment.

Neo Laser is an FDA-approved treatment that uses a long-pulsed 1064nm Nd:YAG laser to target and heal acne. This laser treatment creates a comfortable experience. Patients will not feel any heat or burning as the Neo can cool down the skin between each pulse. This painless treatment does not require an anesthetic and is suitable for all skin tones.

Depending on the extent of acne and skin issues, 4-6 treatments are usually needed to treat successfully. These sessions are spread out over a few weeks and require no downtime. Improvements are visible after 4-8 weeks of consistent sessions.

The Smoothbeam Laser is an FDA-cleared diode laser that effectively treats active acne and acne scarring. It is suitable for all skin tones. Smoothbeam Laser works by heating the tissue under the skin to encourage collagen production, which helps to fade scars. This treatment also targets sebaceous glands to reduce oil production and reduce clogged pores and breakouts. The Smoothbeam Laser treatment causes minimal discomfort, but patients can request topical numbing cream if needed. A single treatment session lasts for 10 to 30 minutes with no downtime. Research has shown that four treatments will reduce acne scarring by up to 75%. Patients must apply high SPF sunscreen and avoid sun exposure for 4-6 weeks after treatment.
