The hands are one of the first body parts to show signs of aging because they are constantly exposed to the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun, which prematurely ages the skin. These visible signs of aging include wrinkles, uneven skin texture, brown spots, thin translucent skin, and spider veins. A hand rejuvenation procedure can improve all these issues.

There are several procedures that patients can opt for that target different signs of aging. Dermal fillers help restore lost volume in the hands and create plumper, youthful skin. These injectables can fade fine lines and hide bony ligaments without anesthetic or downtime.

A popular filler used is Radiesse. It encourages collagen production and firms up the skin. Results can last up to one year. Restylane Lyft, a Hyaluronic Acid-based injectable filler, can volumize and hydrate the hands to make them look rejuvenated. Doctors recommend these fillers three times every 2-4 weeks until optimal results are achieved. Patients may need maintenance sessions after six months for lasting results.

Another procedure that can rejuvenate the hands is autologous fat grafting. During this procedure, doctors harvest your fat from other body areas such as the thighs or abdomen. The fat is then purified and transferred into syringes. It is then injected into your hands to create fullness and volume. Compression garments will need to be worn after the surgery to facilitate recovery.

Skin excision is a surgical option for those who suffer from sagging skin on their hands. It can remove excess skin from the hand. The wounds are closed with sutures that may take a few weeks to heal.

Sclerotherapy specifically targets and removes spider veins on the hands. During this non-surgical procedure, practitioners inject a solution into the visible veins. The process destroys the veins, which are ultimately reabsorbed by the body over time. This is a safe treatment that will not impact the blood circulation in the hands.

Laser treatments can target various signs of aging, such as prominent veins, sagging wrinkled skin, and brown sun spots.

Lastly, chemical peels, such as TCA, can resurface the skin on the hands. A chemical peel can stimulate collagen production for firmer skin and remove the dead layer of skin to reveal clear and glowing skin.

Aftercare will differ for each treatment. It is best to discuss risks and side effects with your doctor.
