Facial acupuncture is a non-surgical treatment that can rejuvenate the face. It can also improve the overall appearance of the skin.

Acupuncture is an ancient Traditional Chinese medical technique. During this procedure, multiple fine needles are inserted into specific points in the face. This natural anti-aging treatment can target crow's feet, frown lines, smile lines, lip lines, and volume loss. It stimulates a better flow of energy around the body while improving the outer appearance. It also targets the lymphatic system and blood circulation, nourishing the body from within. It can also treat acne and breakouts.

The fine needles create controlled injuries stimulating a healing response that causes collagen production. Collagen helps to tighten the skin and iron out wrinkles and fine lines. By repairing the skin, the complexion becomes brighter, more youthful, and volumized.

Acupuncture also improves oxygen levels. It can detoxify the body, helping with puffiness, especially under the eyes. The treatment works better for long-term benefits instead of short-term goals.

The procedure begins with the patient lying down on a massage table. The acupuncturist places 40-70 fine needles into acupoints around the face. Patients will not feel any pain as the needles stay in the skin for the next 25-30 minutes. Once the time is up, the needles are removed.

Acupuncture does not require any downtime. Some patients have reported feeling lightheaded due to the release of endorphins.

Patients need to drink plenty of liquids to help flush out toxins but need to avoid any caffeinated or alcoholic drinks during this time. Patients should be able to notice visible changes after five sessions. The general recommendation for acupuncture is ten sessions performed 1-2 times per week. Once the treatment course is over, patients can opt for maintenance sessions every 4-8 weeks.
