Natural aging can cause several changes in the appearance of the face. It can lose volume in certain areas; the muscles pull down, the skin becomes thinner, and it loses elasticity. Surgical procedures can help to tighten and lift the skin. Non-surgical treatments can add volume, tighten the skin and lift the face. These procedures are unsuitable for patients with severe laxity issues, and results will not be permanent. Non-surgical treatments have reduced recovery time, less pain and fewer risks than operations.

Injectable fillers such as Bellafill, Juvederm, Restyle, Radiesse and Sculptra can add volume to the face. They involve solutions like Hyaluronic Acid or calcium hydroxylapatite. When injected into the face, they can create fullness and more youthful contours. It is normal to experience some swelling and redness after the treatment. Patients do not need any downtime and can return to their everyday activities. Fillers can last up to 6-18 months before a maintenance session is required.

Another injectable treatment is neuromodulators. These include Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau and Xeomin that can relax the facial muscles to fade fine lines and wrinkles. The solution blocks the nerve signals to the muscle. This, in turn, eases contractions, especially around the eyes and between the eyebrows. Patients will be able to notice visible differences after 2-3 days. They need maintenance sessions every 3-4 months.

Ultherapy is a non-invasive rejuvenation treatment. It uses ultrasound technology to heat the deeper layer of the skin. The tissues then produce collagen and elasticity to firm the skin for a youthful appearance. The effects of ultherapy can last several months and even up to a year.

Microneedling is usually used together with radiofrequency technology. It can firm and tighten the skin while improving its overall appearance. The treatment uses tiny needles that pierce the skin, creating controlled injuries. This triggers the body's healing response and boosts collagen production and cell turnover. The radiofrequency energy heats the deeper layer of skin to improve skin elasticity.

A thread lift is a good option for a subtle but noticeable lift in the face. It can pull back the skin using thin threads inserted into the tissues. The threads initiate collagen production that creates a lifted and wrinkle-free appearance.
