Fat freezing, also known as cold or cryotherapy, cools areas of the skin to sub-zero temperatures to increase collagen production and contour, tone, and reduce cellulite dimples. There are different cryotherapy methods, but they all employ the same principles.

CryoSlimming is a 30-minute treatment. It targets stubborn pockets of fat and reduces them. Heat is applied followed by cold to kill the fat cells. While the cold may feel uncomfortable, there are only minor side effects like redness and soreness that will subside after a few hours. The damaged cells are eliminated from the body through the lymphatic system. This may cause patients to feel thirstier.

CoolSculpting is another non-invasive alternative to liposuction. It uses a different device than CryoSlimming. Instead of a wand, it has rounded paddles used to target excess fat. The treatment can take up to 2 hours.

Both CryoSlimming and CoolSculpting can show visible results after 2-3 weeks. These will improve gradually and become permanent three months after.

CryoToning Cellulite works similarly but does not use heat before freezing the cells. Cold is applied to smooth and tighten the skin by increasing microcirculation and blood flow to the area. It also encourages new collagen production and reduces the appearance of cellulite on the legs, butt, and abdomen.

Cryotherapy is most suited for patients who lead a healthy lifestyle and diet but still have stubborn pockets of fat that exercise cannot solve. This is usually because fat cells do not reduce when you lose weight, which creates these accumulated fat tissues. A cryotherapy treatment can permanently destroy fat cells and remove them from the body.

For facial treatments, CryoFacial is a procedure that uses vaporized nitrogen and blows it onto the face and neck. The 10-minute treatment can improve blood circulation and stimulate collagen production to improve skin tone and wrinkles. CryoFacials can be performed every seven days, but maintenance sessions are needed for long-lasting results.
